Real change in our communities begins with the wellness we nurture every day. Driven by the vision of our President to champion global health and wellness, Ambassador Rejoice Waithera (FALA, 2025 Star Prize Winner) organized a transformative community outreach in Kibra, one of Kenya’s largest informal settlements.
What was the goal? To put nourishing food directly into the hands of women, empowering them and their families.
Recognizing the severe challenges of maternal malnutrition, Amb. Rejoice took matters into her own hands. She didn't just buy off-the-shelf supplies; she personally conceptualized, sourced, and formulated a brand-new nutritional powerhouse: 𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐈 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫.
A brilliant, locally manufactured innovation,𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐈 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫, is a meticulously crafted blend of sorghum, cassava, and millet. Amb. Rejoice innovated this high-nutrient composite specifically to deliver the vital energy, vitamins, and health boosts that vulnerable families need most.
The outreach focused on those on the frontlines of motherhood: teenage mothers and older mothers. These women are mostly saddled with the heaviest load when it comes to family upkeep in informal settlements.
During the outreach, the energy was incredible. The mothers were lectured and taught practical ways on proper nutrition and how simple changes in feeding habits can completely transform a child’s health. It was an amazing day filled with learning and empowerment.
Beyond the food distribution, for the teenage mothers, copies of Rhapsody of Realities Teevo were given to them.
It was a perfect addition to the day, giving these young moms the daily spiritual guidance, encouragement, and strength they need to navigate life and raise their little ones with confidence.
