Creating Smiles: Touching Lives in the Heart of Goma, DR Congo
Something remarkable happens when compassion meets action. In the vibrant city of Goma, Ambassador Happy Takinda and her FALF DRC team stepped up to bring real change to the Don Bosko refugee camp, impacting the lives of over 500 people.
With a shared mission of hope, the team worked tirelessly to clean the camp and improve sanitation—restoring a sense of dignity and care to the residents. The smiles of the children said it all: they felt seen, valued, and supported.
In addition to the sanitation efforts, the team distributed essential school supplies, equipping the children with the tools they need to keep learning and dreaming, even in the face of adversity.
This was more than a day of service; it was a message of hope and a reminder that small acts of kindness can shape a brighter future.
