Defy the GMO Crisis Arioris Movement for a Healthier Sustainable Africa

Defy the GMO Crisis: Ariori’s Movement for a Healthier, Sustainable Africa!

Driven by a passion for healthier and sustainable farming, Ambassador Julienne Ariori has taken a bold stand against the widespread use of GMOs and chemical pesticides in Africa, with a particular focus on Benin. Recognizing the severe risks these products pose to public health and the environment, she spearheaded an innovative initiative in partnership with Agri-Secret Nature, a leading organization in organic agriculture.

Together, they financed and produced over 200 containers of cutting-edge bio-pesticides. These were split into two powerful categories: bio-insecticides to protect crops from pests and bio-fungicides nematicides to shield soil and plants from diseases. Covering an impressive 25 hectares of farmland, these eco-friendly solutions were distributed to more than 500 market gardeners, empowering them with tools that protect both their livelihoods and the planet.

But this project didn’t stop at distribution. It was about creating lasting change. Through hands-on capacity-building training, farmers gained the knowledge to use these bio-pesticides effectively, embracing sustainable practices that promise a brighter future for agriculture in Benin. Ambassador Julienne’s initiative not only slashed the use of harmful chemicals but also paved the way for healthier, safer food for thousands of people across the nation.
