In celebration of International Women's Day 2024, Ambassador Ruth Egbedi organized a profound menstrual health sensitization program at Uwanse Palace in Calabar, in collaboration with Kotex Sanitary Pads. This event was characterized by candid discussions and informative sessions empowering 250 young girls with knowledge and confidence, fostering a culture of openness and understanding about menstruation.
Ambassador Ruth emphasized the importance of addressing menstrual health as a crucial aspect of a woman's well-being. She created a safe space for open discussions and knowledge-sharing about menstruation, through open dialogues, dispelling prevalent myths and sharing personal experiences.
As part of the initiative, 5000 pant liners were distributed to the participants, ensuring access to essential menstrual products. The distribution of pant liners to the participants demonstrates her tangible commitment to supporting menstrual hygiene. This not only addresses practical needs but also sends a message of solidarity and support to the young girls attending the event.
