Kemo Bojang, a Future Africa Leaders Awards nominee, member of the Gambia Youth Parliament and founder of Bakau Association, a community development based organization, masterminded a training program (Gambia’s First All Girls Tech Camp) with the help of volunteers where over 200 young girls were trained on web developing and coding.
He also organized Leadership and Civic Education Sessions where participants were taught various constituents of leadership and democracy. After this training, participants were assigned mentors who encouraged and monitored their performances.
Bojang volunteered in providing advanced education to schools in his community. He made available free classes for junior school students and organized a pedagogical summer camp for 70 children.
Still in the drive to encourage felicitous learning milieu, Bojang has initiated an ongoing project of constructing the First Library Resource Centre in his town Bakau, and set up educational billboards. This is to prepare the youth and encourage and grant them the opportunities to be major influencers in the affairs of nation building.
