The Future Africa Leaders Awards
FALA is the flagship recognition programme of FALF, celebrating exceptional young Africans creating measurable impact in their communities, sectors and nations.
Each year, nominees from across Africa's 55 nations are recognised across seven key leadership categories. The awards culminate in a prestigious ceremony and the coveted FALA Star Prize, awarded to the most outstanding young leader of the year.
Application Criteria
To be eligible for the Future Africa Leaders Award, applicants must meet the following criteria.

1 Step 1 of 3
Eligibility Status
- Be a citizen of an African country
- Be between the ages of 16 to 25

2 Step 2 of 3
Membership and Participation
- Be a registered FALF Leadership Initiative Network (LIN) member and participate in the Leadership Initiative Award (LIA) at the Intermediate level.
- Demonstrate exemplary leadership by carrying out mentorship or personal development programs that impact no less than 1,000 young people.
- All 1,000+ beneficiaries must be registered to the FALF Leadership Initiative Network (LIN) using your referral link.

3 Step 3 of 3
Projects and Report
- Only projects carried out under any of FALF's seven sectors will be considered.
- Submit the report of your projects in a well-written 1,000-word citation with supporting media. Refer to the media guide for more information.
- Submit 3 to 5 minute videos of all your projects from the last two years, showcasing your work, beneficiaries and sponsors. Refer to the media guide for more information.
